Rolling Spread Options Tutorial
 
This tutorial explains how to roll a spread option position with optionsXpress. The following steps will guide you through the process:
 
Rolling Spread Options Positions in optionsXpress Account
 
1. After logging into your optionsXpress account, you will see the following (or something similar):
 
 
2. Select “Trade” then "Xspreads"
 
 
3. Select "Condor"
 
 

4. You should observe the following page:

Enter a "period" and the old long option desiring to exit, change "Buy to Open" to "Sell to Close", enter quantiy to trade.

Enter a "period" and the old short option desiring to exit, change "Sell to Open" to "Buy to Close", enter quantiy to trade.

Enter a "period" and the new long option desiring to enter, change "Sell to Open" to "Buy to Open", enter quantiy to trade.

Enter a "period" and the new short option desiring to enter, change "Buy to Open" to "Sell to Open", enter quantiy to trade.

For a credit order select Limit/Credit* and enter the desired credit amount. For a debit order select Limit/Debit* and enter the desired debit amount. PowerOptionsApplied's trade instructions will indicate whether the trade is to be Credit or Debit.
 
 
6. Select "Preview Order"
 
 
7. Select "Place Order"
 
 
8. Select “Check Order Status”
 
 
9. Verify trade filled or select "Modify", "Cancel" or "Trade" as needed
