Oil
The price of crude oil crossed the $58 mark on Monday.
Saudi Arabia is indicating it will supply as much oil as needed to the world market. The Saudi kingdom is concerned a significant increase in the price of oil could impact global economic growth, which could impact demand for oil as well.
World Bank
According to The World Bank the global economic recovery is at a “peak”. The World Bank estimates 2004 global economic growth at 3.8% and is forecasting a slower economic growth rate of 3.1% for 2005 and 2006.
Jobs
The number of employed continue to increase in March, but less than predicted and the unemployment rate dropped slightly to 5.2%.

Free Trade?
Canada and the European Union are planning to slap a 15% tariff on imports of some U.S. products in retribution for the Byrd amendment, which was passed to prevent foreign companies from dumping products in the U.S. and was ruled illegal by the World Trade Organization.
“Shoes, Hat, I Know I’m Forgetting Something”
Golfer Jesper Parnevik forgot to bring his golf clubs to the Masters tournament, they were left in his garage in Florida. Tiger Woods who was in Florida came to Parnevik’s rescue and retrieved the clubs. It was Parnevik who introduced Tiger Woods to his wife Elin, who had been a nanny for the Parnevik’s.
Pageant Scandal
Janeal Lee, Ms. Wheelchair Wisconsin, who suffers from muscular dystrophy, was stripped of her title because she was photographed standing. The rules of the contest stipulate that contestants must be seen in public mostly using their wheelchairs or scooters. The title will now go to the runner-up, Michelle Kearney.
